Development of Daily Living and Life Skills
NDIS Registration Group 0117 – Capacity Building – Development-Life Skills
At Old Bar Merciful Touch Best Care, we provide Development-Life Skills supports to participants in Old Bar, Taree, Wingham, Cundletown, Tinonee, and Sydney. Our supports are designed to help participants build practical daily living skills, increase independence, and develop confidence in managing everyday activities.
This is a Capacity Building support (NDIS Registration Group 0117) that focuses on supporting participants to develop and improve everyday life skills that promote greater independence and community participation. Supports are tailored to each participant’s individual goals, strengths, interests, and level of support required.
We understand that building life skills is an important part of increasing confidence, independence, and long-term wellbeing. Our role is to provide person-centred support that encourages learning, growth, and active participation in everyday life in a safe and supportive environment.
We work closely with participants, families, carers, and support networks to ensure supports are meaningful, goal-oriented, and delivered in a respectful and culturally inclusive manner that aligns with participant goals and NDIS plans.
Why Choose Our Development-Life Skills Support?
At Old Bar Merciful Touch Best Care, we believe every participant should have the opportunity to build the skills and confidence needed to live as independently as possible. Our Development-Life Skills supports are designed to encourage personal growth, confidence-building, and greater independence through practical, participant-focused support.
We provide flexible and individualised supports that promote learning, skill development, and active participation while respecting each participant’s goals, preferences, culture, and pace of learning. Our team works closely with participants to create supportive experiences that encourage long-term independence and meaningful progress.
How This Support Is Different from Core Daily Supports
Development-Life Skills is a Capacity Building support under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). Unlike Core Supports that focus on ongoing assistance with daily tasks, this support focuses on helping participants develop the skills and confidence needed to complete tasks more independently over time.
The aim is to build long-term capacity and independence by teaching practical life skills that support everyday living, decision-making, and community participation.
